Dance, Fun and Body contacts

I left the Sanctuary for another adventure: The Liquid Flow Festival: One week of Aguahara + Contact Improvisation

Contact Impro is a type of dancing where you always have a point of contact between the dancers. It is all about feeling the energy of the moment and following the direction of it. You don’t usually jump into contact dancing randomly but prepare yourself conscioulsy, be fully present and start slowly the contact with the other person. Then everything is possible. Wether it is done eyes closed or not will lead to a very different experience. In the end, you are not looking for easthetic, it does look kind funny from the outside. You are always focusing on what is happinng inside and listening to it. It is very sensual and you don’t necerally do it with the other sex. Intense moments are shared, as every person carry his own energy but also every moment will show you something different.

Aguahara is a dance in the water, still with the idea of keeping a body contact.  Water is an element very unique, associated to Life and the emotion among others. Known to be healing, it definitly carries a special property to clean our energies… how do you feel after a shower? With the same conscious approach we do in Contact Impro, everything takes on a different level once you are immerged in it. Letting yourself be carried by the other one and maybe start playing with him/her, letting that magical fluid take you and express yourself in new ways you couldn’t do on land, that’s what is aguahara about.

Overall

There is a Rainbow feeling around he practice, Love is definitly in the air, attention and care is just normal. If you are not use to touch or be touched, it can be  a little bit overwhelming at the beginning. It could definitly be approched as a healing therapy as we are just walking emotions that need to express themsleves more freely.
